Ethiopian Opal Ring, 925 Sterling Silver
This is a lovely Ethiopian Opal Teardrop Cabochon with a very lively color flash, ranging from predominantly reds and golds depending on the angle with some ghost flashes of blue and red.
The main body of the stone is clean and clear.
The pictures are the best I could take, but they don't give a real sense of the liveliness of this Opal.
Going for the best quality means that these are more expensive, but I've done my very best to make them as affordable as possible.
Simple Bezel setting that holds the stone securely and is rebated towards the band to ensure that when worn the stone dominates the eye ~ and you will be looking at this stone a lot ! The setting is also open at the back so you can see all of the stone.
Ethiopian Opals are a relatively recent discovery, and they form differently to Australian Opals which means that they are always found as solid nodules, not thin veins. There are no doublets or triplets with Ethiopian Opal !Face is 10 x 16 mm and depth is 6 mm,
