Nice quality Ethiopian Opals~ I hand selected all these rings so they all have  a nice colour flash.

The round brilliant cut is unusual for this Opal but works very well with this quality. The cut is deep in order to maximise the sparkle, and the claw setting really shows that off.

There's some nice Celtic style scroll work on  the band.

The material used us 925 Sterling Silver with a rose gold plate ~ this is also called Vermeil.

Gold plating needs a certain care of course ~ but then this style is not for ordinary every day wear. Avoid washing up or showering wearing with  it, also handling a lot of coinage because metal on metal doesn't do any good. Given care this ring will give pleasure for many years and re plating is always an option.

Ethiopian Opals are a relatively recent discovery, and they form differently to Australian Opals which means that they are always found as solid nodules, not thin veins.
